Hello World! 👋

Welcome to my blog! I'm Jordan Burch, and I'm excited to share my journey from IT support to becoming a Senior Web Developer at Meta Digital, along with the projects and experiences that have shaped my career.

What to Expect

In this blog, you'll find:

  • Technical insights from my 5 years in web development
  • Project deep-dives from working with amazing companies
  • Behind-the-scenes stories from custom WordPress to Next.js builds
  • Design and development philosophies I've learned along the way

A Little About Me

I've been developing and working on code for almost 5 years now, with 4 of those years being at Meta Digital. I started out in the IT and mobile technology industry, but decided to transition over to web development – and I've been loving it ever since!

function introduceSelf() {
  return {
    name: "Jordan Burch",
    role: "Senior Web Developer @ Meta Digital",
    experience: "5 years coding, 4 years at Meta Digital",
    journey: ["IT/Mobile Tech", "WordPress Development", "Next.js", "Payload 3.0"],
    philosophy: "Keen eye for design + technical expertise to bring it to life"
  };
}

What's Next?

I've had the privilege of working with some incredible companies like Chipminks Playland, Pinewood, Tui Ora, SHPG, tepuawaitanga.maori.nz, Big Chats, PurePods, and Atamai Structures. I'm planning posts covering:

  1. My evolution from custom WordPress development to Next.js
  2. Working with Payload 3.0 and modern content management
  3. Balancing design aesthetics with technical implementation
  4. Lessons learned from diverse client projects across industries

While I'm currently full-time employed at Meta Digital, I do enjoy freelance work on the side. This portfolio is designed to showcase my work, connect with fellow developers, and start conversations – whether that's about collaborating with Meta Digital or exploring freelance opportunities.
